Get Creative with Your Spring Cleaning

Spring represents a time of "new beginnings." As temperatures rise in the Northern Hemisphere, many people take the opportunity to revitalize their living spaces. A thorough deep clean every six months is ideal for maintaining your home, and there’s no better time to do it than when you can open the windows and enjoy the pleasant weather.

A comprehensive cleaning transforms your home and invigorates your spirit, making a significant difference in your environment. Here are some areas that may not be part of your regular routine:

1. The oven: Food drippings can make a mess-make sure to keep it clean!

2. Behind the refrigerator: Not visible, but important to keep clean!

3. The Freezer: We might throw food in there and forget about it-be sure to clear it out from time to time. Many people like to put a date on when they freeze something so things don’t get too old.

4. Walls: They can get dirty quicker than we think. Spring is a great time to freshen them up!

5. Cabinet fronts and tops:  Make sure cabinet areas aren’t getting too cluttered.

6. Washing machine: Many have a feature that will let you know when to run a self-clean cycle. Be sure to do it when it’s time.

7. Windows and window coverings: You don’t want that nice spring sunshine coming in through dirty glass. Give them a good clean before opening them during the season.

8. Closet: (clean out and donate unwanted items):

9. Pantry: (clean and organize):

10. Linen closet (clean out and donate old sheets and towels to animal shelters, which can always use them)

11. Home Office: get rid of unwanted papers, be sure to shred any personal info. Many communities have free shredding events in the Spring. Also, donate unwanted supplies and things you will no longer use. Organize your desk- a great way to feel energized and motivated!
